Personal-device policy with a security baseline, device-management consent, data separation rules, and off-boarding data removal, closed by a signed acknowledgment. Use it before granting work access on a personal phone or laptop.
This policy governs the use of personal devices — such as phones, tablets, and laptops — for work at Company name (the "Company"). Using a personal device for work is optional; if you choose to do so, the rules below apply and your signature confirms your consent to them.
This policy covers any personal device used to access Company systems, accounts, or information, including email, chat, documents, and internal tools. Each device must be approved before first use. The device you are enrolling is: Device make and model.
If an enrolled device is lost, stolen, or you suspect it has been compromised, report it to the Company immediately. The Company may suspend the device's access and remotely remove Company data to contain the risk. Do not attempt to investigate a suspected compromise yourself — for example, by continuing to use the device to check whether accounts still work — since doing so can deepen the exposure. Prompt reporting, even when you are unsure, is always the right call.
You remain responsible for the cost of the device and its service plan unless the Company agrees otherwise in writing. The Company provides support for approved work applications, not for the device itself. If enrollment in device management causes a technical problem with the device's personal functions, contact the Company; where the issue cannot be resolved, you may withdraw the device from work use instead.
I, Employee full name, confirm that I have read and understood this BYOD policy, that I consent to the device management measures it describes, and that I agree to follow it whenever I use a personal device for Company work. I understand that I may withdraw the device from work use at any time by notifying the Company, at which point Company access and data will be removed.
