The setup
Citizen Relations was running a high-priority campaign for a major consumer brand β short timelines, layered stakeholder feedback, and a deliverable list that spanned both creative and technical work. Email template revisions, paid-media assets, responsive email coding, Klaviyo implementation, and the kind of iteration loop where CMO feedback at 6pm has to land in production by morning.
The brief wasn't "hire a designer" or "hire a developer." It was "give us execution capacity β design and engineering, coordinated, on demand, under campaign pressure" β without standing up new full-time seats or chasing freelancers across email threads.
What was actually getting in the way
The friction was operational, not creative:
