The template

{{Company name}} is hiring a Group Product Manager to lead the product strategy for {{Product area}} and the product managers who build it. You will own outcomes across several teams, coach PMs into stronger versions of themselves, and make the portfolio-level calls a single-team PM cannot. This is a player-coach role: strategy and people, with enough product work to keep your judgment sharp.

What you'll do

  • Own the multi-quarter strategy and outcomes for a product area spanning several teams
  • Manage, coach, and grow a team of {{Number of PMs}} product managers
  • Allocate PM focus across the portfolio, making explicit invest, sustain, and sunset decisions
  • Set the quality bar for discovery, specs, and prioritization across your group
  • Partner with engineering and design leadership on staffing, sequencing, and delivery health
  • Represent your area to executives: strategy reviews, trade-off decisions, and honest status
  • Drive alignment when teams' roadmaps collide, resolving conflicts with a portfolio lens
  • Stay close to customers and the market so strategy stays grounded in evidence

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years in product management, including experience managing product managers
  • A track record of setting product strategy that teams could actually execute
  • Evidence of developing PMs — promotions, growth stories, teams that outlast you
  • Strong analytical grounding: metrics trees, cohort thinking, and business cases
  • Executive-level communication, written and spoken
  • Experience shipping in a domain adjacent to ours: {{Industry or domain}}

Nice to have

  • Experience scaling a product organization through rapid growth
  • Background as an engineer, designer, or data practitioner before product
  • Pricing, packaging, or platform product experience
  • Experience with distributed, remote-first product teams

Compensation and benefits

  • Salary: {{Salary range}}
  • Benefits: {{Benefits summary}}
  • Location: {{Location / remote policy}}

How to apply

{{Application instructions}} Tell us about a portfolio decision you made — what you stopped, what you doubled down on, and how it aged. If you don't tick every box but believe you can do this job well, we still want to hear from you.
