The template

{{Company name}} is hiring an Operations Manager to build and run the systems that let everyone else do their best work. You will own the processes, tools, vendors, and metrics that keep the business humming, and you will fix the friction people have learned to live with. This role rewards someone who sees a broken process and physically cannot leave it alone.

What you'll do

  • Design, document, and continuously improve core operating processes across the company
  • Own the tool stack: evaluate, roll out, administer, and retire software as needs change
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts, negotiating renewals and holding SLAs to account
  • Track operational KPIs and budgets, and report variances with recommendations, not just numbers
  • Run the operational side of hiring and onboarding so new teammates are productive in week one
  • Coordinate cross-team projects, keeping owners, deadlines, and dependencies visible
  • Maintain business-continuity basics: documentation, access management, and compliance checklists
  • Handle the unglamorous, essential work that keeps a growing company predictable

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years in operations, business operations, or a comparable generalist role
  • A record of building processes from scratch that survived after you stepped away
  • Strong spreadsheet and reporting skills; comfort owning a budget
  • Vendor and contract management experience
  • Ruthless organization and follow-through across many parallel threads
  • Direct, kind communication with stakeholders at every level

Nice to have

  • Experience in a fast-growing or distributed-first company
  • Familiarity with automation tools that remove manual work
  • Exposure to basic finance, HR, or legal operations
  • Experience in {{Industry or domain}}

Compensation and benefits

  • Salary: {{Salary range}}
  • Benefits: {{Benefits summary}}
  • Location: {{Location / remote policy}}

How to apply

{{Application instructions}} Tell us about one process you fixed: what was broken, what you changed, and what happened to the metric. If you don't tick every box but believe you can do this job well, we still want to hear from you.
