The template

This acknowledgment confirms that a team member understands what may be shared publicly about work β€” on social media, in talks, in portfolios, and anywhere else outside the company β€” and what must stay internal. It complements the confidentiality agreement and does not replace it.

1. Who is acknowledging

I, Team member full name, working at Company name (the "Company") as Role title, make the acknowledgments below. They apply to every public channel: social networks, blogs, podcasts, videos, conference talks, portfolios, community forums, and comments on other people's posts.

2. What I will not share publicly

I understand that, without prior written approval from the Company, I will not post or discuss publicly:

  • Unannounced products, features, launches, or roadmaps.
  • Client names, client projects, or anything a client shared with the Company, unless the client relationship is already public and the Company approves the mention.
  • Business metrics, revenue, pricing, funding details, or internal targets.
  • Internal documents, screenshots, code, designs, or photos of internal workspaces or screens.
  • Personal information about colleagues, candidates, or clients, or details of internal discussions and decisions.
  • Security details, incidents, or anything that could help an attacker.

3. What I may share

  • That I work at the Company, my role, and my own professional experience described in general terms.
  • Content the Company has already published, shared or amplified from official channels.
  • My own skills and lessons learned, described generically without confidential specifics.
  • Approved portfolio pieces, using only material the Company has cleared in writing.

4. How I will behave online

  1. When I discuss topics related to the Company's industry, I will make clear that opinions are my own and not the Company's.
  2. If I am unsure whether something can be shared, I will ask Approval contact before posting.
  3. If I post something that turns out to include confidential information, I will remove it promptly and report it so the impact can be assessed.
  4. These expectations apply on personal accounts as well as professional ones, and they continue after my engagement ends for information that remains confidential.

5. What this acknowledgment does not restrict

  1. My right under applicable law to discuss my own working conditions, wages, or other legally protected topics.
  2. Legally protected disclosures to authorities.
  3. Personal opinions on public matters unrelated to the Company's confidential information.

6. My confirmation

I confirm that I have read this acknowledgment and the Company's social media guidance, that I had the chance to ask questions, and that I understand how these expectations apply to my public activity.
