The template

This letter confirms the offer of part-time employment described below. It records the role, the agreed weekly schedule, and how compensation and time off are prorated for that schedule, and it becomes binding on the conditions stated once both parties sign.

1. The role

Company name (the "Company") is pleased to offer Candidate full name the part-time position of Role title, reporting to Manager name and title.

Your expected start date is Start date, or another date the parties agree to in writing.

2. Schedule and hours

  1. Your regular working time is Weekly hours hours per week, scheduled as follows: Work schedule summary.
  2. Changes to the regular schedule require written agreement in advance. Occasional additional hours may be worked by mutual agreement and are compensated at your regular rate unless a different rate applies under Company policy.

3. Compensation

  1. Pay of Base pay and currency, paid according to the Company's regular payroll schedule and subject to applicable withholdings.
  2. Because this is a part-time position, any salary-based amount is prorated to your agreed weekly hours relative to the Company's standard full-time schedule, and the figure above already reflects that proration.
  3. Any bonus, commission, or other variable component is described here: Variable compensation summary. If none applies, this field should say "none". Variable amounts tied to a full-time schedule are prorated on the same basis as base pay.

4. Benefits and time off

You will be eligible for the Company's benefits and paid-time-off programs as in effect from time to time, subject to each plan's own eligibility rules. Where a benefit or paid-time-off allowance accrues by hours worked or by schedule, it accrues proportionally to your agreed weekly hours. Benefit plans are governed by their own terms and may change; this letter does not promise any specific plan.

5. Work location

Your primary work location will be Work location. Any remote or hybrid arrangement follows the Company's remote work policy.

6. Conditions of this offer

  1. This offer is contingent on satisfactory completion of any background or reference checks the Company lawfully requires.
  2. You confirm that accepting this role does not breach any obligation you owe to a former employer, and that you will not bring or use any third party's confidential material.
  3. You will be asked to sign the Company's standard confidentiality and intellectual property agreement on or before your start date.

7. Nature of this letter

This letter summarizes the offer and is not a contract for a fixed term of employment. The terms of ongoing employment, including how either party may end it, are governed by the employment agreement and the law of the applicable jurisdiction.

8. Accepting the offer

To accept, sign below by Offer expiry date. If unsigned by that date, the offer lapses automatically.
